Sky lanterns, also known as Chinese Lantern / Paper Hot Air Balloon are airborne paper lanterns that are best known as a tradition found in some Asian cultures. Material Used: tissue paper, bamboo frame and contain a small candle or fuel cell composed of a waxy flammable material. When lit, the flame heats the air inside the lantern, thus lowering its density causing the lantern to rise into the air. The sky lantern is only airborne for as long as the flame stays alight, after which the lantern sinks back to the ground.Sky lanterns are also referred to as sky candles or fire balloons. (UFO Balloons) this also cause hundreds of UFO reports, because of the bright light (at night) and the way it disappears (when the flame went out). With a Cubic / rectangular shape they all almost look the same.
Originally was created by Kongming Lantern. He was the first hot air balloon, said to be invented by the Chinese sage and military. Today people use sky lanterns all year round, for celebrations and other special occasions.
